Gender reveal baby showers have become increasingly popular recently, as more and more expecting parents are choosing to have the gender of their baby be a surprise. Whether it be using completely gender neutral baby shower decorations and tableware, putting blue or pink confetti inside an opaque balloon and popping it to reveal the colour, or filling a piñata with lollies of a single colour, the joy and surprise that an expecting Mummy feels when she finds out the gender of her new bub is heart-warming! On top of this, there’s heaps of party games that can be played at a gender reveal – why not let every guest take a guess before the big reveal takes place?
We have heaps of customers who come in for a 90cm black latex balloon filled with either pink or blue confetti/shredded tissue paper. If they themselves don’t want to know the gender of the baby, they can ask their sonographer to write the gender on a piece of paper, fold it up, put it in an envelope and they can give it to us – the secret is safe with us!
Food reveals are also big at baby showers. You can do cupcakes with blue or pink icing, fill a large cake with blue or pink smarties, or as an alternative to food reveals, you could reveal the gender at the end of the party in a noticeable way. For instance, you could fill a black balloon with blue or pink paint, tie it onto a piece of cardboard and throw a dart at it, letting everyone know the bub’s gender.
