We love throwing parties here at Shindigs - it’s what we do!
We love helping our customers plan their parties, find the perfect decorations and supplies, and hear all the fun stories after the event. We understand how much planning goes into throwing a soirée - it can feel a little stressful having to shop for decorations, find a costume, choose a menu, and make sure everything goes smoothly on the day.
You might even find yourself still in host-mode mid-party, worrying about feeding your guests and cleaning up the mess afterwards!
Planning a party doesn’t have to be complicated or stressful - in fact, it can be a fun and simple process with minimal fuss before and after the event. We know the secret of planning an easy breezy party - in this blog, we share three party hacks to help you throw the easiest party ever, spend less time worrying, and more time being the life of the party.
Cleaning up after a big event is an absolute nightmare. After a long day or night of dancing, hosting and socialising, the last thing you want to do is spend hours washing plates, cups and cutlery.
To make clean-up a thing of the past, consider picking up some disposable plates, cups and cutlery from Shindigs. We’ve got a massive range of disposable catering supplies in all different colours, shapes, themes and materials - whatever you need to make your party a huge success.
If you’re looking for bright colours, check out our Assorted Laser Party Plates - all your primary colours in shiny, interesting patterns. Perfect for colour-based parties, 70s Disco Parties, and Rubix Cube Parties!
For eco-warriors looking to reduce plastic build-up in landfill, make sure to pick up some of our Eco Palm Leaf Bowls - 100% natural, biodegradable and compostable, so tossing them in the bin isn’t going to hurt the environment.
Alternatively, we’ve also got disposable bowls made from sugarcane which are also recyclable and biodegradable.
Thinking of having a theme for your party, but still keen to keep it simple?
Consider having a colour theme!
Whether it’s your favourite colour, the birthday boy or girl’s favourite colour, or even a multi-coloured theme, choosing a colour theme removes the pressure of finding a costume and makes shopping for decorations easy.
For a multi-coloured theme, consider calling it a “Rubix Cube” party and ask everyone to wear a colour from a Rubik’s Cube - red, blue, green, yellow, orange and white. We even have Rubik's Cube costumes, if you want to be the cube itself (you want to stand out as the host, after all).
If you want to go even simpler, you might consider throwing a single colour party, like red. Guests can dress up in anything red - red shirts, dresses, pants, hats, and more! Alternatively, they could dress up in red-related costumes, like a demon or Little Red Riding Hood.
Plus, catering and decorating supplies are easy to buy in bulk if they’re all a single colour. For your red themed party, for example, you can pick up 20 packs of red plastic cups, 4 packs of red party hats, and 100 packs of red latex balloons!
You want to be the life of your own party - not spending the entire time slaving away in the kitchen preparing food!
The good news is you don’t have to be a cater-extraordinaire to throw an awesome party. Instead, consider setting up a self-serve food table or area where guests can customise their own snacks and meals, serve themselves, and relieve the pressure on you.
Think compartment platters full of classic snacks like party pies, sausage rolls, cocktail frankfurts and chicken tenders for a simple, 30-minute cooking solution pre-party, or even order in some pizzas and get creative with tiered pizza stands.
Don’t forget tongs, spoons and utensils to keep things sanitary - don’t want guests touching each others’ food! At Shindigs, we have disposable tongs, spoons and other utensils, so you can forget about washing up after everyone has gone home.
You’re the host: the life and soul of the party… which is why you need to spend less time in host-mode cleaning up and worrying about keeping guests fed, and more time having fun with your guests!
Planning a party for friends and family doesn’t need to be complicated or stressful.
Cleaning up is a thing of the past with disposable plates, cups, and cutlery - just grab a garbage bag and throw it all away. No stacking the dishwasher, no washing up, and no dishpan hands! Clean-up will take a couple of minutes tops, then you can kick back and relax post-party.
Worried about catering? Let the guests do it themselves - bake some classic party pies and sausage rolls, then have a self-serve station so you don’t have to run around offering food to everyone.
And finally, if you’d like the addition of a fun theme, consider a colour! You can purchase all your party supplies in bulk, and choosing a costume is super simple.
With these tips, you can spend less time stressing about planning, decorating and catering, and more time enjoying your party.
